Vibrate to the rhythm of the Dordogne River...

For history and culture enthusiasts, the department is teeming with treasures as numerous as they are fabulous:

The Valley of Man happens to be the European Capital of Prehistory: it is full of many sites classified as UNESCO Heritage including the world famous: Center International d'Art Parietal (LASCAUX IV),

but also the Cave of Font-de-Gaume, the Gouffre de Proumeyssac, or the National Museum of Prehistory.

The Dordogne Valley is also called the Valley of a Thousand and One Castles and it is not for nothing… It numbers more than 550 because of its position as the border between England and France during the Hundred War years.  The most famous castles are the Forteresse de Beynac (it served as the setting for the shooting of many cinematographic films including The Visitors), the Château de Castelnaud, the Château des Milandes (formerly owned by Joséphine Baker), the Château de Biron, the Château de Commarque ... While remaining in the architectural discoveries of the Middle Ages, go and visit famous Bastides such as Domme, Monpazier, Eymet and Villefranche-du-Périgord.

The Dordogne is a department full of villages classified as "most beautiful villages in France", the most impressive of which are: Beynac and Cazenac, Roque-Gageac, Belvès, Domme, Limeuil and Monpazier.

You will find different theme parks for families with children of all ages: Le Bournat, Bois des Lutins, Aqua Parc,
